Welcome to SUMMONS.

This program is intended to help people use the small claims procedure in the English courts. (Also Wales, but not Northern Ireland, Scotland or the Isle of Man).

The program enables you to enter all the details that go on a small claims summons form N1. Once entered, you can then print off as many copies as you wish. The program allows you to print the entire form onto a blank sheet of paper. Such forms should be acceptable to your local county court.

Installing over a previous version of SUMMONS

If you have already purchased a licence for the SUMMONS program, your licence details can/will be retained.

You can upgrade to the new version of SUMMONS
in one of two ways.

1) installing over existing version.

When you run the install program, give it the same directory as you are currently using for SUMMONS. This will replace the old version with the new version, but should keep all your default settings and registration details intact. [ It might be a good idea to take a backup first].

2) installing to a separate directory.

This will mean you have both versions side by side on the same machine. The new version will not have any of your default settings (e.g. your address in the plaintiffs box). You will need to enter these. Also the version will appear as a demonstration version. You will need to enter the licence information (keystring & password) from your existing version to convert it to a licenced copy.
